Blackhead Acne

Blackhead are type of acne also sometimes refereed by doctors as open comedone. They appear over the surface of skin with little bumps. The difference between blackheads and whiteheads is that blackheads occurs on oily skin, whereas whiteheads occurs on dry or oily skin. Dermatologists say that removing blackheads sometimes becomes one of the most tough part in maintaining clear skin.

Causes of Blackhead

A combination of excess oil and clogged pores is the root cause of blackhead. Chocked pores occurs when excessive oil fails to flow over the surface of the skin because of dead skin cells and impaired pore obstructing the way. With open pore, this extra oil reacts with oxygen present in the atmosphere and transforms into dark color, ending with black head.

  • Hormonal changes is the major cause of excessive oil production. Over secretion of male hormones, androgens but present in both male and female body helps in increasing natural oil production of the body. Thus, making the skin more oil build up.
  • The next reason of blackhead formation is application of make-ups and poor quality skin products. They mix with the natural oil of the body and contributes in blocking skin pores.
  • Pollution and other chemical components also causes blackheads.

Blackhead Prevention

  • With daily skin care routine, you can prevent blackhead. The skin care routine involves taking proper medications and daily cleansing. To prevent blackheads you can follow these tips:
  • Try to avoid using thick, greasy and creamy products. This kind of prevention alone helps the skin from appearing blackheads.
  • Always use gentle and organic skin care products. Always try to pick up those cleanser that solubles with water easily. This kind of cleanser tends to contain less chemicals.
  • Avoid using bar soaps. Bar soaps are made with hard chemical components, that sometimes causes premature shedding of skin cells resulting in clogged pores. If you have dry skin, then you must avoid bar soaps.
  • Since, the occurrence of dead skin cells cannot be stopped, thus you must stop accumulating dead skin cells over the skin. Exfoliating is a great way in clearing dead skin cells. With zero or less clogs, the natural oils of the skin will be distributed over the skin evenly. You can use skin- exfoliant for this purpose. Use a skin exfoliant that contains BHA and AHA acids. While BHA or beta hydroxy acids cleans pore linings and AHA alpha hydroxy acid exfoliates the surface of the skin.

Blackhead Removal

Squeezing is one of the most common methods for removing blackheads. While squeezing, make sure that you press the skin gently. However, you must try squeezing twice at maximum. If the blackheads does not pop out, then your skin might suffer from damages. Another way of blackheads removal is warm compress. This will open the pores and it becomes easier to move.
