If you are wondering what are papules, they are type of acne. The word is derived from Latin word “papula” that stands for pimple. This acne lesions appear with small, flesh-colored red bumps over the surface of the skin. Like whiteheads and blackheads papules is not consist of any fluid or pus. Causes of Papule Acne
Male hormone androgen causes papule acne. In most of the cases teen agers are more prone to acne breakouts. As during teens the body starts producing androgen hormone. Although this hormone is male hormone, a small quantity is also exists in female body. The secretion amount varies among male and female. Androgen hormone is known to stimulate sebaceous oil gland, that produces sebum oil. This sebum oil is identified as the main culprit in causing acne and its types.
The wall of follicle breaks and bacteria and cellular debris spill inside the dermis. This break occurs when pore overflows with oil and this debris. Sometimes, a papule turns into pustule, one of the most severe forms of acne. Thus, extra oil block the hair follicles and forms a clump with dead skin cells over the top layer of the skin. Thus, you can now understand, how this sticky mixture blocks the path of your skin pores. The situation can be compared with a cork fitted bottle trapping bacteria and oil inside it.
Treatment of Papule
Papule is an intermediate type of acne, that must not be squeezed. This type of acne is very hard and solid. Thus, if you try squeezing it out, then you might suffer from permanent scarring and your skin will suffer from more serous damages. You must consult with a dermatologist and know more about papules. Sometimes, many medicines are also prescribed in treating papule. Most of the people have the notion that washing the face vigorously, helps in getting rid of acne completely. However, the reality is rough scrubbing only contributes in over production of sebum and also damages the skin.
